The innovative and revolutionary horological creator, François-Paul Journe, has been a source of inspiration for a generation of contemporary watchmakers. François-Paul Journe's fascination with the tourbillon dates back to his youth. At the age of 20, he embarked on the creation of his first watch entirely by hand, a tourbillon pocket watch. In 1991, he crafted his inaugural tourbillon wristwatch, a limited number of which found their way to knowledgeable collectors. The year 1999 witnessed the launch of the first Tourbillon Souverain with Remontoir d'Égalité in wristwatch form. This timepiece, offered through subscription and limited to 20 examples, became highly sought after by collectors vying for a coveted spot on the exclusive list.
